- Fall Start: You must sign a contract for 2 semesters: Fall and Spring.
- Spring Start: You must sign a contract for 1 semester: (Spring). After arrival, you can opt to extend your contract.
- Summer Start: You must sign a contract for Summer. After arrival, you can opt to extend your contract.
- Dining Plans: Students who live in on-campus housing are required to have a dining plan, this will automatically be assigned and added to your statement of fees when you indicate your preference per the steps below. Dining plans are allocated and charged per semester as above.
Apply For Housing
There are two steps to applying for on-campus housing at KU:
Step 1 – Submit this KU Housing form (below) to indicate your intent to live on-campus or off-campus
Step 2 – After you have received your final admissions letter and 7 digit KU ID number, you will need to submit your housing request and contract in the KU Housing portal. Directions to complete the housing application process are available online at https://housing.ku.edu/apply. KU Housing does its best to place you in your preferred housing option, however based on availability, your preference is not guaranteed.
The $50 application fee is included in your deposit payment. There is no additional cost to you to apply for housing. Please indicate you are eligible for an admissions fee waiver as needed.
Housing placements are assigned on a first come first serve basis.
Dining Plans
A meal plan is required for all students living in On-Campus Housing. A basic meal plan option will be automatically assigned and applied to your statement of fees when you select on-campus in the housing form below. When you then complete step 2 as above (submit housing request and contract via KU Housing portal) you will have the option to select different meal plans. If you upgrade to an option above the basic meal plan, you will be issued an updated statement of fees with the new meal plan assignment and costs.
